My Story
Big Ron Handyman Services became official in August 2024 — but the story really starts in 2011, when I bought my first home and hung a dollar-store paper towel holder without checking for pipes. I hit one dead center. We found out the next morning, the day of our housewarming party, when a jet of water was shooting across the laundry room.
A neighbor helped me find the shutoff. A plumber fixed the pipe in fifteen minutes flat — for a bill that felt like $1,000 an hour. But he let me stick around and watch him work, and that turned out to be worth more than the $300 it cost me. Sometimes the expensive lesson is the one that pays off later — that day planted the seed for everything that came after.
Over the next thirteen years, I remodeled bathrooms and a kitchen, laid flooring, hung lights and ceiling fans, built a fence, installed turf, painted the entire interior of the house, and hung more pictures and art than I can count — all on my own home, because I loved doing it. Friends and family started asking for help, and eventually one of them said what I hadn't considered: do this for a living. I'd been in computer programming since 2013, so a hands-on trade on the side sounded like the right balance. In August 2024, Big Ron Handyman Services was born, and in March 2026, I made it official and went full-time.
I have a genuine passion for helping people, I price fairly, and — most importantly — I stand behind my work. If I can't do a job right, I won't take it on.
